About CAPA

The Clergy and Police Alliance exists for four principal reasons.  Those are:

  1. To pray for the men and women who serve as Fort Worth police officers.  They are on the frontline daily to protect and serve the citizens of Fort Worth.  Their job is stressful and dangerous and CAPA support through presence and prayer is invaluable.
  2. To build and promote relationships with the officers in such a way as to offer support and encouragement.  This is accomplished through roll call attendance and ride outs with the officers.
  3. To respond to emergency calls for assistance by officers on scene.  These calls represent vitally important opportunities of prayer and ministry.   A CAPA's presence is intended to be a calming and reassuring influence.
  4. To encourage citizen awareness of the value and necessity of the FWPD.  CAPA is not a public service arm of the FWPD, but CAPA members can educate their respective churches and synagogues to create positive public relationships with FWPD.

Together each of these building blocks make up the whole of CAPA.  Just as each officer does their part in making the FWPD a highly trained and professional law enforcement agency, each CAPA member is that same sort of building block for CAPA.
